Clan Analogue at Harmonics, Workshop Bar, Melbourne

Clan Analogue have been invited to present a showcase lineup of their latest artists’ work at Harmonics, this Tuesday night at Workshop, upstairs at 413 Elizabeth St, from 6pm to 11pm. All the artists performing have been featured on recent Clan Analogue releases, including the new compilation Coordinate: Collaboration Beyond the Algorithm and last year’s compilation release Analogue Redux. iubar project is the experimental music project from Polish-born philosopher-turned-musician Martin K who collaborates with sound artists throughout the world on ambient soundscapes and field recordings to use as the basis for improvised peformances using iPads. His collaboration ‘Untold’ with Modus Op is heard on the new compilation Coordinate: Collaboration Beyond the Algorithm.

Random Acts of Elevator Music spent time last decade striding the streets of Melbourne’s CBD with portable studios hidden in briefcases, infiltrating office lifts to perform their muzaktronica to raise the productivity of unsuspecting workers. Now they have released their long-awaited self-titled album and are bringing their combination of ambient modular bleeps and mid-80s digital sound technology to Harmonics.

Michael Mildren is one of Melbourne’s most accomplished electronic music artists, stunning audiences at the last three Melbourne Fringe Festivals with his Men/Machine and Music Non-Stop shows and his new ensemble The Drone Men. His new Process series of mini-albums has recently launched with the first installment Process 1: Studies in Kraft. At Harmonics Michael will be performing a set full of analogue-driven sonics, expansive drones and acid-infused electro grooves.

Ming started his career spinning vinyl techno sets in Melbourne clubs before amassing a hardware setup and beginning the production of his own tracks. Ming’s track ‘One’ is a highlight of the Clan Analogue compilation Analogue Redux: Hardware Explorations.
