Submit music to the ‘Analogue Redux’ compilation

Clan Analogue is seeking submissions for a new compilation which celebrates the world of all that is analogue in modern electronic music. We are looking for music which ticks one of the following boxes:
• made with all-analogue equipment
• features significant use of vintage analogue equipment
• uses classic electronic music equipment which while not strictly analogue still rates an honourary mention, (eg Yamaha DX7, Akai S950)

Most importantly, we want music which situates the use of classic gear and classic working methods in the context of modern music. We discourage kitsch unless you can do it particularly cleverly!

And we recognise that not everyone has some old analogue gear sitting in their studio. So we encourage you to collaborate with people who do!

Finally, every submission needs to be accompanied by a brief explanation of how you created your track and an image showing the studio setup and analogue equipment you used. This will be used in the album artwork and accompanying promotional material.

Send submissions to mantravision [at] gmail [dot] com as either mp3 files or links to music that can be downloaded or streamed. Wav files will be requested for any tracks that are selected for inclusion.

Deadline for submissions: January 31st 2014

  1. Is Knew clone gear all right too use like . Miami=808 clone , Xoxbox=303 clone,Kick Lancet, MiniBrute . all Analog just knew .

  2. No problem with using clone gear as suggested. Look forward to hearing what you come up with!

  3. Hello there, cool idea. Can I use sample based drum machines, such as tr505/626. I use 626 to trigger Juno 6. Also how about Cazio CZ5000 and MPC?
    Cheers

  4. TR505, TR626, CZ5000 and MPC all qualify as classic gear, even if not strictly analogue, so we’d certainly be happy to consider submissions which use equipment like that. Look forward to hearing what you produce!

  5. What if the music uses electronic reverbs (eg: lexicon, ensoniq) however was recorded onto an analog four-track?

  6. Whether it was recorded on 4-track or uses digital effects isn’t so much the issue. Does it substantially use analogue equipment, eg synthesizers, drum machines, or other classic gear? If so, then it fits the bill!

  7. We’re planning for it to be released prior to middle of 2014. We regularly release compilations with different themes or styles. Check out our Releases tab for details of what other comps we’ve put out.

  8. There is some limited space still left for late submissions so yes, please submit something!
