Pradip Sarkar produces globally-influenced electronic grooves and performs with his outfit Sikander. He draws his influences from African rhythms, having spent his childhood in West Africa, and from his Indian heritage, which he blends with his favourite club genres, such as house, electro-funk, and bass music. Living around Coburg for 17 years resulted in his adoption of middle-eastern textures to his music. Pradip also hosts shows on Melbourne’s PBS-FM from time to time, and his currently undertaking a PhD on the emerging Hip Hop scene in India at the RMIT School of Media and Communications.
